False Eyelashes
False eyelashes create amazingly striking eyes, but are notoriously hard to apply!
To make sure you don’t end up with your falsies hanging off at the end of a night out, follow these top tips on perfect application:
Firstly, make sure you choose the right lashes for you. If it’s a really dramatic look you’re after then go for a full set, but, if it’s a slightly more subtle look you’re aiming for, then try the individual ones instead and continue applying until you achieve the result you want.
The next step is to ensure your eyes are completely clean - any makeup residue or oil will stop the glue working properly so make sure you cleanse your eye area with an oil-free remover.
You then need to trim the lashes to fit before lightly applying the glue to the base – putting the glue onto paper and applying with a toothpick is a great way of ensuring you don’t overload the glue!
Once the glue is tacky – which only takes a minute or so – it’s time to apply. Whilst looking in the mirror, start applying the false lashes from the inside corner out – unless they’re individual lashes in which case you need to start from the outside corner - ensuring they are as close to your natural lash line as possible. When in place, simply press and hold until the lashes feel secure.
Once applied, put on eyeliner to hide the join, gently curl the lashes using an eyelash curler and then apply lashings of mascara!
